Sandra Christian

February 27, 1943 — December 20, 2024

Sandra Sue Christian, 81. She was born February 27th, 1943 to John and Marie Meyersick in Topeka, Kansas and passed away Friday, December 20th, 2024.


Sandra Enjoyed playing music on her guitar, gardening, quilting, reading, decorating alongside her daughter, Shauna, and studying God’s word most of all. She worked for Columbia sportswear as a seamstress sewing boat covers, managed a cleaning crew for a cleaning business, as well as cooking and cleaning for clients on the side. Sandra had a passion for music and was frequently playing guitar, singing at church, home, and anywhere else the mood hit.


Sandra moved to Kansas in the early 90’s and began working for Peterson nursing home in Osage City as a cook. She worked diligently to earn her high school diploma after moving to Osage City. Soon afterward, she began working for Lewis and Elva Humphrey, where she cooked, cleaned, and managed their home and daily affairs for over 15 years. Following their passing, she relocated to Madison, Kansas, where she cared for her ailing sister, Josie, for a few years. During this time, she enjoyed gardening and watching her grandchildren grow. After receiving an end stage kidney failure diagnosis, she moved in with her son, Matthew Christian in Derby, Kansas. She was called home by the Lord on a bright and sunny Friday afternoon with her son, Matthew by her side.


She was preceded in death by her father, John Richard Lee Meyersick; mother, Marie Meyersick; brother, Richard Meyersick, his wife, Nancy Meyersick, and sister, Josie O'Brien.


Sandra is survived by her brother, George Meyersick; sisters, Doris Villareal Hamilton, Virginia Batsell, Myrna Parker; daughters, Connie Rohde, Shauna Fox; sons, Kenneth Wilson, Matthew Christian and many more family members dear to her heart.


There will be a celebration of Sandra Christian at: Grace Chapel, 419 S. 3rd St., Carbondale, KS (date yet to be determined)


Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Grace Chapel in Burlingame, KS, Grace Chapel in Carbondale, KS or Grace Chapel in Wichita, KS.
