Samuel Wesley Slayden

Samuel Wesley "Sam" Slayden, beloved husband, step-dad, brother, uncle, great-uncle and friend was born December 5, 1930 in Kansas City, Mo. He died Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the age of 83. Sam was the owner of Slayden Heating and Air Conditioning. He retired from Coleman Heating and Air Conditioning Company as a tool and die maker. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samual and Maud Slayden and sister, Sonja Coyan. Survivors include his wife, Jill; step-daughter, Carrie E. Hair (Tom) of Indianapolis, IN; step-grandsons, Jonathan and Stephen Hair; brother, Gene Slayden of Wichita; sister, Sherry Beerbower (Earl) of Ft. Scott, KS; sister-in-law, Joyce Gorringe; nieces, Holly Lawlor and Dawn Parker (Travis); nephew, Joey Beerbower; grand-nephews, Tyler and Hunter Parker, grand-niece, Jenna Parker, grand-nephews, Colin and Brandon Lawlor No public viewing. Funeral service: 10am Wednesday, September 3, 2014, Living Word Christian Church, 201 N. Derby Ave., Derby, KS. Memorials are established with Living Word Christian Church and the Kansas Food Bank.
