Ruth Ann Cox, 83, of Wichita, Kan., passed away on April 29, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 15, 1930, to Leslie and Margaret Hartley. Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy (Cox) Herndon; brothers, Richard Hartley, Don Hartley, and Bob Hartley; and her great granddaughter Mykel Denise Cox. She is survived by her husband Ernest (Bud) Cox; children, Steve (Janis) Cox and Stan (Angela) Cox; sister, Jane (Don) Allen; and brother, Mike (Katie) Hartley. Ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive her. Ruth Ann was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She loved golf, camping, being outdoors and especially spending time with her family. She had a special gift for hospitality. Her friends and family will deeply miss her vibrant personality, sense of humor, unselfish spirit, and welcoming smile. Viewing: 2-8pm Friday with family greeting friends from 6-7pm at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 7901 W. 21st St. Memorials have been established with Rainbows United, 3223 N. Oliver, and Amedisys Hospice, 250 W. Douglas.
