Pulver, Roy Dean, 85, a well-respected, loving father and husband, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2012. Visitation 1-8 Friday, family present 6-8; funeral service 2 pm Saturday, both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Roy built and restored open wheel dirt track racecars for over 60 years. He had many friends in the racing field and enjoyed the sport enormously. Throughout his life, he was a service station attendant, mechanic, lumberyard employee, Sedgwick County firefighter, Fleet Mechanic for Arnholz Coffee, and was in the mobile home transportation business. Roy was an Army Veteran in WWII. Preceded in death by his first wife, LeFon (Teeters) Pulver and great-grandson Kyle Adams. Survived by wife Eunice Pulver; daughters Edie Adams Vogt and Frankie Bolander; son Troy Jay Pulver; eight grandchildren: Grant Adams, Grady Adams, Erin Strange, Wyatt Pulver, Trent Pulver, Megan Janzen, Jaynie Bolander, and Jeffery Bolander; great-grandchildren: Hailey Adams, Kody Adams, Riley Adams, Kaitlin Adams, Logan Adams, Caitlyn Strange, Sean Strange, Aine Strange, Mairi Strange, Carey Pulver, Andrew Pulver, Brianne Janzen, Douglas Pulver, and Owen Pulver; great-great-grandson: Kale Adams. A memorial has been established with K.A.R. Club c/o Dwane Wolf,15506 S.W. County Line, Rose Hill, KS 67133.
