Roy Lee Nave passed into heaven on January 22, 2022 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita, KS, from pneumonia and other health complications.
He was born in Wichita, KS, January 25, 1953, spending his younger years in Derby and Udall, KS, with his loving parents, Floyd and Nellie Nave. His brother, Floyd, Jr. and his sisters Maudie and Helen; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins played an important part in his life. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, vehicles, and his dogs. He spoke highly of his classmates in Udall, and was part of the football team. He also excelled in school. Roy started a John Deere collection at a young age and chose farming as his profession, working on the Udall farm and later with his father and mother-in-law, Harold and Madlyn Weathered, in addition to Kevin and Dawn Ruyle’s family and numerous farmers in Oxford, Ks. Prior to farming he worked for the phone company in Udall. He attended Udall and Oxford churches. Roy married Cynda Weathered from Oxford until they were separated by divorce. Cynda preceded Roy in death along with his parents, sister Helen, his in-laws, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Roy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held 2pm Saturday, January 29, in the Mulvane Cemetery. Due to family illness, a memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oxford Lions Club, where Roy was a very active member and Past-President. He appreciated the help that they gave him following his aneurism. The family is appreciative of the care provided to Roy by the Oxford Medicalodge.
