Roy Roger "Rod" Mitchell

Roy Roger "Rod" Mitchell was born on January 22, 1944, to Ted and Octie Mitchell, in McClurg, Missouri. He went to meet his savior on May 10, 2022. Rod was married September 4, 1962 to Brenda Southard.

Rod is preceded in death by both parents as well as sisters Patsy, Louise, and Evelyn. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Brenda Mitchell, his siblings Barb Ellison, Howard Mitchell, Gary Mitchell, and Sharon Rush, three daughters Nyana (Randy) Dunagan, Fanita (Mike) West, and Deana Savage, five grandchildren Megan (Chandler) Willoughby, Roger Dunagan, Jessica (Zach) Mounce, Matthew (Makayla) Dunagan, and Breana (Dylan) Alexander, as well as great-grandchildren Rhaygen, Bryson, and Payton Willoughby, Riley and Dawsyn Mounce, Elisa Dunagan, and two to come.

A Celebration of Life is to be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 2-5pm, as a come and go and visitation with the family at Smith Mortuary in Derby, KS. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association of Wichita, 1820 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67214.
