Roy Edward Milam, Age 82, retired Director of Family Services, McConnell AFB, retired Professor, Central Christian College of Kansas in McPherson, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017. Visitation 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 29, 2017, with family greeting friends 6-8 pm, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd. Derby. Funeral Service 10:00 am, Thursday, March 30, SouthRock Christian Church, 900 S. Rock Rd, Derby. Roy is preceded in death by parents, Ocie and Pearl Milam; brothers, Doyle and Walter; sisters, Edna Lazenby, Ruby Causey and Melba LeVesque; grandson, Ryan Dixon; father-in-law, Leonard Dutcher. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marlys; daughters, Danita White (Darrell Taylor), and Kendra Sweet (J.W.), all of Derby; grandchildren, James Dixon, Christopher Thomas, Clayton Walker, Braden and CJ Sweet; great-grandchildren, Amari and Azaria Dixon; mother-in-law, Phyllis Dutcher, of Derby; sister-in-law, Donna Sullins, of Clive, IA; brother-in-law, Dale Dutcher (Connie), of Wichita; several nieces and nephews. Roy was involved with drama, directing over 150 productions during his career.
