Roy Freund

Roy L. Freund, 90, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018. He was born July 13, 1928 to Roy Edgar Freund and Mabel Elizabeth Freund in Cole Camp, MO.

Roy served in the US Army during the occupation of Japan. After graduating from Drury College in 1952, he started work for Aetna Life. He worked for Aetna for 36 years. He was a life-long Rotarian and was instrumental in the formation of the Derby Rotary Club. He enjoyed all sports, especially playing golf, the St Louis Cardinals and Shocker basketball.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Edgar Biddle Freund. Roy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary; children, Terry (Robbie) Freund, David (Marcia) Freund, and Andrea Henderson; grandchildren, Taylor Freund, Alex Freund, Connor Freund, and Emily Henderson; and siblings, Larry (Eleanor) Freund, Marilyn Stevinson, and Joe (Mary) Freund. Memorial Service: 10:30 am, Friday, October 19th, 2018 at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 431 S. Woodlawn Blvd., Derby, KS 67037. Private inurnment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
