Rose D. Roe

Rose Darlene Roe, 91, went to be with the Lord on February 16th, 2025 at the Glenn Carr Memory Center, in Derby, Kansas.

Rose "Darlene" Barkman was born April 28th, 1933 in Cowley County, Kansas to Ira David Barkman and, Norma Lindsay Barkman. Rose had three brothers, Raymond, Ira Jr, Floyd and sisters, Marie and Barbara, who is the only surviving sibling.

Rose attended Winfield High School, worked at the Winfield Theater, met her first husband, Paul E. Keely and were married October 14, 1951. To this union, they had four children, Paula Martin, Lyle Scott Keely, Denna Keely, and Devee Farmer. Paul preceeds Rose in death.

Rose, at the age 46, married Jerry G. Roe on February 2, 1980, Jerry had three children, with two surviving children, Roxann Thompson and Nancy Crowley. Jerry also preceeds Rose in death.

Jerry and Rose attended First Presbyterian Church in Derby for 40 plus years. Rose enjoyed making cookies, serving dinners and helping withe many different activities within the Church. Jerry was owner operator of Derby Motor for over 40 years and Rose worked at the business with bookkeeping. Rose also worked as a Dental Assistant for RK Thomason at Mulvane Dentistry, for about 20 years.

Rose enjoyed crocheting dollies and table scarfs, quilting and needle point. She also enjoyed collecting antiques, her favorites were Hobnail glass, Fenton glass baskets and food choppers. She all so love her collection of Dolls, and Bears.

The funeral service is to be held at 10:30 am Monday, March 3, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church located at 324 N. Baltimore, Derby, KS 67037.
