Romney Jay Saliba

August 5, 1954 — March 7, 2022

Romney Jay Saliba, 67, of Douglass, passed away March 7, 2022 at his home. Born August 5, 1954 in Madison, Wisconsin, he was the son of Sami and Dana Jane (Richmond) Saliba.


After completing two Masters degrees at Pittsburg State University, Romney’s chosen career path was to serve special populations and to help those less fortunate. He continued honing his exceptional furniture restoration skills on the side.


He started his own antique/furniture restoration business in 2006 which he ran successfully until his passing.


He was accomplished at playing the piano and violin and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was an extraordinarily skilled and knowledgeable man with boundless energy. He always believed in “doing the next right thing” and encouraged others to do the same.


He is survived by his wife Connie, his son Jayson Saliba, daughter Amber Price, five grandchildren, Matthew and Katherine Saliba, Lera, Atley and Samara Price, brothers Fareed (Vicki) Saliba, Ethan (Susan) Saliba, Darren Saliba, sisters Mary (Kurt) Friess and DanaLynn (Kirby) Ham, and several nieces and nephews.


Memorial services will be 11:00 am Friday, April 1, at Smith Mortuary in Mulvane. A memorial has been established with Samaritan’s Purse. Please visit www.smithfamilymortuaries.com to share condolences and memories.
