Roger Ray Bell

Roger R. Bell, 63, of Cotopaxi, Colorado, passed away on September 21, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1963, in El Dorado, Kansas, to Charles and Ellen Bell. Roger married his wife, Kelley E. (Burns) Bell on October 28th, 1989. They moved to Colorado in 1991, as they both had expressed their desires to live in that state when they were both 5 years old.

Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, coach, and friend. He will be remembered for his love of coaching, four-wheeling, shooting squirrels, traveling, and helping neighbors and friends whenever he could (as the fixer of most things). He was a proud father and grandfather who supported every one of his children's and grandchildren's sports, activities, and accomplishments. Whether cheering from the sidelines, lending a helping hand, or celebrating their successes, Roger was always there, showing how deeply he loved and believed in them.

Roger proudly served in the United States Army from 1981 to 1985 and continued his service in the National Guard from 1985 to 1989. Throughout his life, he worked in law enforcement, as an EMT, firefighter, firefighting instructor, correctional officer, and handyman. His dedication to serving and helping others touched countless lives.

Roger made it his life goal to set foot on all seven continents, accomplishing six of them through a lifetime of military service and adventures around the world. Recently, he completed that journey by reaching Australia, the seventh continent with his wife by his side, making the final chapter of an incredible adventure even more meaningful.

Roger is survived by his wife, Kelley E. Bell; his children, Wesley and Hannah Bell, Rowan and Kali Bell, and Audrey and Andrew Peterson-Kien; his grandchildren, Calvin Bell, Emmett Bell, Theodore Peterson-Kien, and Kayden Bell; his favorite mother-in-law, Amydell Burns; Bella the princess; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents, Charles and Ellen Bell; his sisters, Sheryl Bell and Karen Bell; and his father-in-law, Wm. Duane Burns.

Roger's memory will live on through the many people he coached, served with, helped, and loved. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Celebration of Life to be held in Colorado at a later date.
