Rod Caret

Caret, Rod “Grumpy,” 77, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, June 27, 2014. Rod retired from the U.S. Air Force and USD 260. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benedict and Malvina Caret and brother John. Survived by wife Marilyn; children Christine (Todd) Showalter of Derby and Steven (Leanne) Caret of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren Kacie (Alex) Fulsom and Korie Showalter; great-grandson Jaxon Fulsom; siblings Julie Hanson, Judith Caret, George Caret, Thomas Caret, Mariel Wooding, and Ed Caret, and special aunt Theresa Allen. Visitation 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, (family present 5-7) at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday, at South Rock Christian Church, 900 S. Rock Rd., Derby.
