Robert F. Mills

Robert F. Mills, 80, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017. He was born April 19, 1936 in Wichita, KS to George and Elizabeth Mae (Franklin) Mills. He married Belva Mills on April 11, 1953, in Marquette, KS. Through their love and commitment, they raised five children, Bobby, Brenda, Benny, Andy, and Marty. Robert worked as a Derby Police Officer for 14 years and then went to work for White Westinghouse as a Service Manager until his retirement. He and Belva enjoyed traveling in their travel trailer and going on motorcycle rides. Several family memories were made on camping trips to Estes Park, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife of 63 years, Belva Mills. Robert is survived by his children, Bobby (Song) Mills, Brenda (Steven) Straub, Ben (Ludy) Mills, Andy (Doris) Mills, and Marty Mills; siblings, Richard Mills, Georgia Holeman, Earl Dean Mills, and Myron Mills; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Viewing: Friday from 1 to 8 pm. Funeral: 10 am, Saturday, January 28, 2017; both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS 67037.
