Robert Eugene Davis Sr,. age 81, passed away September 13th, 2015. Visitation 1-8 PM Thursday, Smith Mortuary, 501 SE Louis Blvd, Mulvane. Graveside service 1 Pm Friday, Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, Winfield. He was born July 13, 1934 in Youngstown Ohio. He married Sharon Naber of Havre, Montana, July 31, 1954. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sharon, of Wichita; children, Renee Pray, of Wichita, Lorie Metz, of Rose Hill, and son, Robert Eugene Davis Jr., of Shepherd, Montana; sister, Dee McKee; brothers, George, Owen, and Lawrence (Buzz) Davis, all from Youngstown, Ohio; grandchildren, Charity Rosander, of Iowa, Donnie Freier, of Texas, Jessica Jones, of Kansas, Naomi Davis, of Florida, and Joel and Adam Davis, of Montana; 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by father, George Davis and mother Dorothy Gallauher. Bob was a Vietnam Veteran, Retired SFC (E7) Army where he was in telecommunications, he was also a Retired United States Postal worker from "Havre Montana". Bob was a true friend to all who knew him well. Bob was an avid square dancer and a square dance caller. He loved and defended his country. Bob was a member of the D.A.V., V.F.W., Masons and American Legion Post 136 in Mulvane, Kansas. He and Sharon moved from Montana to Wichita 12 years ago. They were snow birds who traveled to Yuma Az. for the winter, and in the spring, would come back and live in Wichita for the next 6 months of the year. Bob loved to golf, he was an avid reader, he loved old war and old western movies and he played a mean game of pinochle, in addition, Bob had two poodles, Princess and Glorie, whom he loved so very much.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with the American Legion Post 136, 410 SE Louis Dr., Mulvane, KS 67110 and Kansas Veterans Home, 1220 WWII Memorial Dr., Winfield, KS 67156.
