Robert G. Daniels

Robert G. Daniels, 82, was born on May 16, 1933, in San Francisco, Calif. He passed away peacefully at Vintage Place in Derby, Kans., on August 3, 2015. He was raised in Denver, Colo. That's where he spent his wild years. He went to Alaska to work on the pipeline. He lived many places in his life, Pennsylvania being his favorite. He loved to hunt and fish in his younger years with his Optimist Club friends. They will all miss him. He was a Korean veteran, and traveled the world with the Navy. He felt, "Idle hands are the devil's workshop," so you could always find him in his garage whittlin' on some piece of wood. He was respected by all the kids in the neighborood and loved by his dog, "Bonnie Sue." He said many times, "I want to go where my dogs are." He made friends wherever he went. He was married to his beloved wife of 53 years, Peggy Daniels, the greatest father to his children, Dunreath Nixon of Mulvane, Kans., Steve Daniels and Kelly (Michael) Ramey, of San Diego. Cherished by his grandchildren Charleigh and Brendan Nixon; Katharine and Kriss Daniels; Emerson, Meagan and Miles Ramey; and great-grandson Alun Nixon. Memorial service 1:00 p.m. Friday, at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS. Family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials to PALS Rescue, P.O.
