Robert E. Collins

Collins, Robert E., 81, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014. He was born March 9, 1933 to Alvin and Delphia (Wise) Collins in Wichita.

Robert retired from the Kansas Air National Guard after over 30 years. He was a devoted member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and enjoyed donating his time in service to others at the church and through Meals on Wheels. He owned and operated a successful business. Robert loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers. Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bonnie Collins; children, Stephanie (Daniel) Grant, Robert (Margaret) Collins, and Gregory (Pamela) Collins; 8 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Wednesday, from 1 to 8 pm at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd. Derby, KS. Funeral: 1 pm, Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 1550 N. Chapel Hill Dr., Wichita, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside St., Wichita, KS.
