Robert Burkett

Robert D. “Bob” Burkett, age 63, was born Oct. 26, 1951 in Wichita and passed away July 25, 2015. Funeral service 2pm Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Smith Mortuary 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby. Bob graduated from Rose Hill High in 1969. He worked construction and at Boeing A/C. His hobbies were gardening, football, Nascar races, and his pet dogs. Bob touched many hearts with kindness and compassion for others. He is preceded in death by his father, Ray E. Burkett; grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth Markel, George and Ethel Burkett. Bob is survived by his sons, Brennen D. Burkett of Wichita, Chris Burkett of Missouri, daughter, Deneen Burkett of Wichita; mother, Mary “Betty” Wyckoff of Derby; friend and companion, Jean Henman and daughters, Christina and Heather; several grandchildren, extended family member and friends.
