Wharry, Richard “Rick” A., 61, loving father, son, and brother, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014. He was born July 31, 1952 in Wichita, KS. He worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. Rick loved animals. He enjoyed breeding and racing thoroughbred, paint, and quarter horses. He also enjoyed breeding and racing greyhound dogs. He was a longtime member of the Kansas Quarter Horse Racing, American Quarter Horse, and the National Cutting Horse Associations. Rick was a very likable person with a good sense of humor; he never met a stranger. Rick is survived by his girlfriend, Tasha Adams; parents, Darold and Rita Wharry; children, Jason (Darla) Wharry, Jarrod (Shelly) Wharry, and Tiffany (Bob) Clark; siblings, Lee (Jill) Wharry and Carrie (Michael) Marshall; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many, many friends. He was loved and will be missed. Celebration of Life: 6 pm, Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Prairie Trail Cowboy Church, 8552 S. Broadway, Haysville, KS 67060. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Prairie Trail Cowboy Church.
