Richard “Rick” Dean Weaver, age 71, passed away at his residence in Wichita Kansas. Born on September 29, 1950 in Fairview Oklahoma to Ray and Tula Weaver. Rick was the second oldest of 4 children and spent most of his life in Kansas in the Wichita area. Never straying far from home, he completed his service in the US Army stationed in Fort Riley. After a deployment to Germany, he separated from the Army and soon met his bride-to-be, Deborah Murphy. Married for 9 years, (but later divorced), they raised 4 children of their own. Rick worked in several aircraft manufacturers in the area, eventually retiring in his home town of over 40 years in Belle Plaine in 2007.
Rick was known for his faith in God, ready to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on whenever needed. He enjoyed sharing a laugh over a good story or the latest conspiracy theory, and playing his guitar for his kids and grandkids. A loving father and brother, he lost his battle with cancer on August 19, 2022 and was finally called home to his maker.
He is survived by his 4 children Jesse Weaver, Jean Weaver, Rebecca Delaughder, and John Weaver, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 27th at the Smith Mortuary in Mulvane, Kansas. Rick will always be loved and missed, and never forgotten.
