Richard E. “Rick” Matthews, age 71, retired MSGT, US Air Force, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Visitation 1-8 PM Thursday, with family receiving friends 5:30 – 7:30 pm at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 2 PM Friday, November 7th, Lincoln Baptist Church, 7801 E. Lincoln, Wichita. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Derby. Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Helen Matthews; sister, Joann Hollingshead; and a niece, Cheryl Hollingshead. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Pat; sons, Scott (Kristi), Wichita, Todd (Alisha), of Bartlesville, and Troy, Wichita; daughter, Michelle Willson, Derby; brothers, Jack (Pat), Vacaville, CA, and Bill (Becky), Avondale, AZ; grandchildren, Kim, Jenny, Stacia, Todd Jr., Justin, Brock, Jade and Glenda; 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his brothers and sisters in Christ at Lincoln Baptist Church.
