Richard Lee Dutcher

Richard Lee Dutcher, age 67, passed away on October 17, 2025. Richard was born in Wichita, Kansas to Carl Dutcher and Louise Cole. Richard married Purley Barber and together they had three children.

Richard was happiest outdoors, whether he was fishing, hunting, or camping. He loved the open road on his Harley and the quiet peace of a campfire at the end of the day. A true family man, he treasured time with his loved ones and enjoyed having everyone together. He taught hunter safety, proud to share his love and respect for the outdoors with others. Richard had a big heart and loved cooking for a crowd, usually behind the grill or working his magic with one of his cast iron skillets. His easy laugh, big personality, and love for the simple things will be missed by everyone who knew him.He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, James Dutcher.

Richard is survived by his wife, Purley Dutcher; children, Gerald (Carla) Dutcher, Darrell (Susan) Dutcher; grandchildren, Torrie, Carson, Averie, and Abigail Dutcher; his brothers, Carl (Jane) Dutcher, and Vernon (Christi) Dutcher

Viewing will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Smith Family Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway. Funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Burial at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita.
