Rex H. Morley, Jr., 81, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026 after ongoing complications of COPD. Rex was born on October 15, 1944 to Rex Sr. and Iva Morley at their home in Oketo, Kansas.
Rex served from 1964-1966 for the US Navy during the Vietnam conflict and was proud of his time service (as we were). After his service he returned home to the Wichita area and started working for Boeing. Over the years he worked for a variety of aircraft companies including Cessna, Lockheed, Martin Marietta, and others as an Experimental Static Test mechanic.
Rex also loved riding motorcycles, his Muscle car collection, and drag racing. He would talk for hours into the night about and had vast knowledge of them that he loved to share with online groups and family/friends that needed help.
Preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Iva; sisters, Patricia and Venetia and granddaughter, Stormy Morley. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Phyllis; two children, Sean (Elizabeth) Morley, Daniel Morley; grandchildren, Staci (Spencer) Lueck, Stephanie (Johnathan) Shultz, Reese, Zoe, Jaclyn, Michaela, Gracie, Blake; great grandchild, Kyra Lueck and another on the way, plus a large group of extended family and friends.
Memorial service is Saturday, June 20th, 11:00 at the Wichita United Church of Christ, 5200 E 31st St S, Wichita, KS 67210.
