Thompson, Raymond Dean, 77, owner of Ray’s Petroleum Equipment, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 surrounded by family. He was born on September 8, 1933 in Adams County, Nebraska to Fred Thompson, Sr., and Sophia Torske Thompson. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, 5 brothers. Survivors include his wife of nearly 54 years, Sue (Podewitz) Thompson; son, David (Mary Anne) Thompson; daughters, Debra (Donald) Knight, Kris McElhiney all of Wichita; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Smith of Gibbon, Nebraska, Martha (James) Prichard of Upland, Nebraska; brother, Leroy (Carolyn) Thompson of Alma, Nebraska. Viewing: Sunday, 2-8pm., Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca. Service: 1pm, Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, West Side Christian Church, 1819 W. Douglas. Memorials may be made to West Side Christian Church or the charity of choice.
