Raymond Lee Coppenbarger

Mulvane - Coppenbarger, Raymond Lee, 83, passed away on August 3, 2026. He was born to Robert Coppenbarger and Glenna (Matney) Vaught on February 12, 1943.

Ray Coppenbarger lived a life defined by love, family, and the simple joys that made every day meaningful. He passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind countless memories that will continue to be treasured by everyone who knew him.

Ray had a deep appreciation for antiques and could spend hours searching for unique treasures, each with its own story and history. Whether exploring antique shops or taking a scenic road trip, he found joy in the journey as much as the destination. He never needed an elaborate plan. Time spent on the road with the people he loved was enough.

When he was home, you could often find him enjoying a good crime drama or settling in for a Hallmark movie. He appreciated stories that brought people together, made him think, or simply ended with hope.

More than anything else, Ray’s greatest love was his wife. Their marriage was the center of his life, and anyone who knew them could see the devotion they shared. He loved her deeply and faithfully, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment.

Ray’s greatest legacy is the love he gave so freely. He was a devoted husband, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a steady presence in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His family will remember his big heart, his quiet strength, and the comfort of simply being together.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that love like his does not end. It lives on in the memories he created the lessons he taught, and the family he cherished so completely.

Ray will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sherry Sue Compton Coppenbarger; son, Kevin Lee Coppenbarger; sister, Kay Kelly; and his parents.

Raymond is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Brian) Sipes and Kerrie (Brian) Hensley; grandchildren, Taylor Hoss, Amanda Alonso, Justin Sipes, Adam Coppenbarger; great-grandchildren, Ella Pik, Eisley Alonso, Hazel Alonso; and sister, Laura Jane Gwaltney.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-6 pm on Friday, August 14, 2026, at The Lodge at Warren Riverview Park, 321 W. Market St. Derby, Kansas 67037.
