Raymond Aguirre, 93, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away in his home on December 24, 2025. He was born August 8,1932 to Francisco and Benedicta Aguirre in Wichita,Kansas.
In his early years Ray enjoyed playing softball and golfing when he had to give them up, he loved watching his son and grandchildren following his footsteps playing softball. Ray was later honored with the Newton Mexican American Athletic Clubs Hall of Fame. After retirement Ray and his wife Retha enjoyed traveling and occasionally stopping to try their luck at the Casino. Ray’s favorite pastime was spending time with his family and watching Westerns on TV.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife Retha of 68 years of marriage, his children Ray (Barbie) Aguirre, Cindy Knarr, Cathy (Toby) Paige, Jewell (Mike) Spignesi, grandchildren Shonda, Mike, Rachael, Tasha, Taylor, Tiffany, Cecil, Sydney and 13 great-grandchildren. Ray is preceded in death by his parents Franciso and Benedita “Elena” Aguirre; brothers Manuel, Margarito, Conrado and sisters, Josephina Aguirre and Consuelo Valdez.
Rosary is 10:00am followed by a 10:30am Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 30th both at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 525 E Main St, Mulvane, KS 67110.
