Ralph William Dillon Jr., 77, of Derby, Kansas, passed away on March 1, 2024. He was born on December 24, 1946, in Vincennes, Indiana. Ralph, a United States Army veteran, dedicated 13 years to military service. He later served on the Boeing Flightline as an Avionics Technician for over 20 years.
Ralph was known for his vibrant personality, being funny, loving, kind, charismatic, ornery, hardworking, generous, witty, proud, and patriotic. He worshipped at St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed hobbies such as bowling, fishing, square dancing, guitar playing, traveling, camping, and spending time with family. He also had a special love for babies.
He is survived by his wife, Suzette Dillon, siblings Anna Dillon Lunceford, Joe (Lana) Dillon, children Randy (Lori) Dillon, Albert (Lynn) Dillon, Tim Dillon, Teresa Dillon Whiteman, grandchildren TJ Whiteman, Nicholas (Tiffany) Thompson, Mikel Whiteman, Montanna Whiteman, Megan (Mark) Waits, Rebecca Dillon, Elizabeth (CJ) Roy, Andrew Dillon, Tori (Jacob) Manuel, Maryah (Alex) Langford, Timmy Dillon, Sam Dillon, Daniel Dillon, 15 great-grandchildren, and was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Byrd, and father, Ralph William Dillon.
A viewing will be held on March 6, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Smith Family Mortuary in Derby, KS. Funeral services will take place on March 7, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Derby, KS, with a Rosary at 9:30 am, Mass at 10:00 am, followed by a luncheon at 11:00 am. The procession will begin at 12:00 pm and lead to Winfield Veterans' Cemetery for a graveside service at 1:00 pm.
Flowers can be sent to Smith Family Mortuary in Derby, KS. Or in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
