Phyllis Jean Jones

Phyllis Jean Jones (Pennick), 83, of Mulvane, Kansas, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017. She was born to Roy and Myra Pennick on June 19, 1934 in Belle Plaine, Kansas. Phyllis graduated from Mulvane High School in 1952. She married the love of her life, Glenn Jones, on February 19, 1953 in Wichita, Kansas.

Phyllis was a dedicated homemaker and a caregiver too many children throughout her lifetime. She also spent many years working for Smith Family Mortuaries as a receptionist.

She is preceded in death by her parents, along with her sisters Marie Pennick, Helen Diemer, Doris Hukle, and her brother Bruce Pennick. She is survived by her husband Glenn of Mulvane, Kansas, daughter Glenda Thornton of Wichita, Kansas, daughter Lisa Jones of Mulvane, Kansas, sister Hazel Kelley of Silverdale, Washington, grandson Trevor Thornton of Mulvane, Kansas, grandson Tyler Thornton of Los Angeles, California, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing will take place on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with family present from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Smith Family Mortuary in Mulvane, Kansas.

Services will be held at the Mulvane Christian Church in Mulvane, Kansas on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 10:00 AM

In lieu of flowers, memorials are with the Mulvane Christian Church and the Villa Maria in Mulvane.
