Phyllis J. Carr

Carr, Phyllis Jean (Simmons), 82, passed on September 10, 2010. She was born July 13, 1928 to Jake and Faune Simmons of Rose Hill, Kansas. She was a graduate of Wesley School of Nursing and was an active member of Grace Med and Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and a fifteen year participant in the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure. Phyllis is survived by her husband of 60 years Bob Carr, sons Steve (Cheryl), of Wichita, Terry (Cristi), of Kansas City, Mike (Nancy), of Hong Kong, Doug (Julie), of Andover. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Visitation 1-8pm Sunday with family present from 6-8pm at Smith Mortuary – Derby. Funeral services are 10am Monday at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, 5701 E. Mt. Vernon, Wichita. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial established with Victory in the Valley and The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
