Peggy Joan Fraley was born on Sunday, April 21, 1946, in Pine Ridge, South Dakota and passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022, in Wichita Kansas at the age of 76. Peggy worked as a receptionist at Star Lumber, Wichita for 15 years and at the Episcopal Social Services for many years. She volunteered at the Mid-America All-Indian Center; being seven-eighths Oglala Sioux and one-eighth Cheyenne River Sioux, she loved Powwows and gatherings She loved a variety of creative hobbies; particularly beading regalias, breast plates, barrettes, and jewelry.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary EnemyAfraidofHim and her adoptive parents, John and Claudeen Seidl. She is survived by her sister, Clara YoungBear, brother, Mike Seidl, daughter, Karla Kimminau and five sons, Bernard, John,
and Joseph Kimminau and Bradley and Dakota Mendenhall, many cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many beloved friends who were like family to her.
Memorial Service: 2 pm, Friday, October 14, 2022, at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca, Wichita, Kansas 67213.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St. Joseph Indian School in South Dakota.
