Paxton Grey French

French, Paxton, 8, passed away on April 3, 2026. He was born in Winfield, Kansas on August 28, 2017 to Aaron and Makayla French.

He loved playing Minecraft, especially when he could share that time with his siblings, laughing, building, and creating worlds together. He had a special love for his hamster, showing a gentle and caring heart in the way he took care of his little companion. He also enjoyed adventure and excitement, spending time riding his go-kart and 4-wheeler whenever he had the chance. He loved watching YouTube videos, always curious and entertained, and he took pride in doing things on his own, especially cooking his own food, which made him feel independent and accomplished. He dreamed big for his future. He wanted to serve his country and hoped to join the Army one day, inspired by bravery, purpose, and a desire to make a difference.

Paxton is survived by his loving parents, Aaron and Makayla French; brothers, Riley Benjamin Neil Van Eck, Lukas Dean French, Emmet Riverson French; sisters, Izabella Brooklynn French, Kyra Ember Raine French; grandparents, Chris and Beverly Harris, Shane Tolle, Gary and Bonnie Wong; great-grandparents, Bill and Sharon Tolle; uncles, Brandon French, Mitchell Tolle, Devonte Harris, Jaylon Harris, and Dohn Dupreme; aunt, Cortney French, and Ola Utt.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 5:00pm -7:00pm at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 North Rock Road, Derby, Kansas 67037. Funeral service is1:00pm Thursday, April 9, 2026, at First Baptist Church Haysville, 125 South Delos Avenue, Haysville, Kansas 67060.
