Patrick Kane passed away in February 16, 2022 at Ascension Via Christi Saint Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas due to severe sepsis and complications of COVID19. A vigil mass will be held at St Cecilia’s Catholic Church on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.

Patrick was born August 17, 1962 on Bitburg Air Force Base in Germany to Darwin and Anna Marie Kane. Patrick graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1980. He enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on August 6, 1986.

Patrick was trained and worked for CRST and was a long distance hauler and a logging trucker during his career. In San Diego California Patrick was a high crane rigger for National Steel building Naval ships. He also studied geology and petroleum engineering and worked as a rigger and salesperson in the oil industry. Pat’s last job was at Boot Barn in Wichita.

Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Darwin Kane, his paternal grandparents George and Julie Ellen Hanson, and maternal grandparents Michael and Katrina Schaefer.

Patrick leaves behind his wife Sherill, sons Michael, Kevin, and Christian, and daughters Sarah, Summer, Lexie, and Madison; grandchildren Ophelia, Hope, Ariella, Mia, Zander, and Azrael. His mother Anna Marie, and sister Jacquie (David) and many other relatives and friends. Patrick’s funeral will be at a later date in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at St John’s Cemetery.
