Patricia P. Smith

Patricia P. (Pat) Smith, daughter of Dosha and Walter O. Meyers, was born on May 13, 1932 in Spanish Fort, TX and passed away on February 12, 2025 at the age of 92. Pat grew up and attended schools in Pilot Point, TX. She worked in Fort Worth, TX until her marriage on June 30, 1951 to John W. (Pete) Smith from North Carolina.


Pat and Pete were the parents of two children. As a homemaker, Pat supported her husband during many deployments at Air Force bases both within the US as well as basses around the world including France, Germany and Panama. After Pete's retirement in 1968, Pat and her family settled in Alabama.


As a mother, Pat was very involved in her children's education and activities. Pat worked in various jobs outside the home as a bookkeeper, bank teller and restaurant hostess. In her later years, she remained very active with her hobbies which included sewing, needlepoint and jewelry making.


In 1997, Pat moved from Montgomery, Alabama to Mulvane, KS to be closer to family. Most recently, Pat lived at the Homestead Senior Residences in Mulvane.


Survivors include: 2 children: Pam (Bill) Meitl, Mulvane, KS; Ed (Dianne) Smith, Holly Springs, NC. 4 grandchildren: Christopher Smith, Brandon Smith, Doug Meitl, and Ben Meitl. 3 great-grandchildren: Sinjin Smith, Jackson Smith, Kelly Smith. One more expected in July. 1 great-great-grandchild: Adalyne Jo Smith.


Being the last surviving sibling in her family, Pat was preceded in death by her parents as well as four sisters and one brother.


Memorial Service: 10:00 am, Friday, February 21st, 2025 at Smith Family Mortuary Mulvane Chapel 501 SE Louis Blvd. Mulvane, Kansas 67110.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mulvan Senior Citizen Center
