Patricia "Patty" A. Morris, 80, retired Secretary and Para for USD 261, Haysville, died Friday, August 14, 2015. Viewing: 11-4pm Tuesday, Smith Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville. Rosary: 6pm Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 1830 W. Grand, Haysville. Funeral Mass: 10am Wednesday, August 19, 2015, also at the church. Pat was a member of St. Cecilia Church. She was born in Glasco, KS. on July 26, 1935 and lived most of her life in Wichita. She attended Planeview Schools, graduating in 1954. On July 18, 1953, she married Joe Morris. Pat worked for the phone company in Wichita for three years and then for Haysville Schools for 33 years, as well as a substitute for the last six years. Pat loved working with the kids and felt that was her “nitch” in life. A long-time runner and avid aerobics lover, Pat ran in many races the last 25 years of her life. She liked bowling as well. Pat had been an on going officer in the Planeview Alumni Association for many years. Survivors include her husband, Joe; sons, Brad Morris (Penny) and Kirwin Morris, all of Douglass, KS; sisters, Sharon Sunderman of Bella Vista, ARK, and Barbara Taylor of Oxford, KS; grandchildren, Carrie Morris and Danny Morris, both of Oxford, Candace Witherspoon of Lawrence, Billy Morris of Douglass; great-grandsons, Arthur Witherspoon and Dalton Vargus. She is preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Morris. A memorial is established with St. Cecilia Church. Pat will be loved and remembered by her husband, children, other family members, many friends and co-workers. Her warm heart and smile, twinkling eyes, mischievous antics and very caring heart will also me missed.
