Wichita – Ysidro, Oscar Everett “Sid”, age 87, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Visitation 1-7pm Saturday, with family present from 5-7pm; funeral service 2pm Sunday, October 24, both at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Born June 30, 1923 in Greenwich, Kansas to Myrtle and Mariano Ysidro. He retired in 1985 after 41 years at Boeing Aircraft. Preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include: wife, Ida Jean (Sublette) Ysidro; sisters, Bernice Scott and Laverna Ysidro both of Wichita; children, Carlos Ysidro, Mark (Ramona) Ysidro, Yvonne Ysidro, Dawn Ysidro, Monte (Carol) Ysidro; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Marine Corp Veteran of WWII. Recipient of the Purple Heart and Gold Star for wounds received in action against the enemy on the 22nd of February and the 4th of March 1945, at Iwo Jima.
