Derby – Canaan, Orville D., age 78 passed away Friday, March 11, 2011. Visitation 1-8pm Monday with family present 6-8pm at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby. Funeral service 10am Tuesday at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 431 S. Woodlawn, Derby. Interment 3pm Tuesday at Pleasantview Cemetery, Jet, OK. Orville was preceded in death by his parents, W.E. and Pearl Canaan; siblings, Ethel Rose and Billy Joe Canaan. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kay Canaan; daughters, Marcia (Jim) Hargrove and Diane (Mike) Blaine; grandchildren, Stephen and Brian Blaine, Tori Hargrove, Sandy (Matt) Mayer and Tim Blaine; 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Melvin Canaan and Don (Lorna) Canaan; sisters, Dorothy (Budd) Aker and Beverly (Gary) Cushmen; numerous nieces and nephews.
