Norma Lee Miller, 79, of Mt. Vernon, Mo., passed away at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon. She was born on Nov. 30, 1932, in Maize, Kan., the daughter of Walker Richard and Fairy Aletha (Forward) Wadsworth. Norma was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Maize. She was very involved with Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, she loved to travel, and was a huge animal lover. On Nov. 28, 1952, she married John Francis Miller in Maize. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, John; daughter, Teresa Jett both of Mt. Vernon; son, Walker Miller and wife, Darline of Pawnee City, Neb.; brother, Vern Wadsworth and wife, Peggy of Sedgwick, Kan.; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Her parents; brother, Marvin Wadsworth; son-in-law, Mark Jett; grandson, Jonathon Jett; and great-grandson, King James Tribble preceded her in death. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012; funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, both at the Culbertson-Smith Mortuary in Wichita. Burial will follow in the Maize Park Cemetery in Maize, Kan. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
