Norma Kanaga

Kanaga, Norma, 87, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015. She was born July 10, 1927 to Harold and Sadie (Gorham) Minson in Mulvane, KS. Norma was a lifelong Derby area resident and a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and scrapbooking, but family was the most important thing to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dan Kanaga; daughter, Connie Williams; and brother, Rex Minson. Norma is survived by her son, Scott (Melissa) Kanaga; son-in-law, Jim Williams; sister, Betty Simonsen; grandchildren, Jason Williams, Amber (Matthew) Pommier, Aaron (Samantha) Williams, Marshall Kanaga, and Anna Kanaga; great-grandson, Jack Williams; and a large extended family. Visitation: Wednesday, 1 to 8 pm, with family present between 5 and 7 pm at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS 67037. Funeral: 2 pm, Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 431 S. Woodlawn Blvd., Derby, KS 67037. Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodlawn United Methodist Church Thrift Store.
