Nelia Rosalie Whitman

Nelia "Nell" Rosalie Whitman, 75, a former resident of Gaithersburg, MD. passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017. She was born November 7, 1942 to Gonzalo and Rosario (Montoya) Garcia in Cabanatuan City, Philippines. Nelia received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the Eastern University in Manila, Philippines in 1967, a certificate in Paralegal from Montgomery College in 1995, and a Masters in Economics. She traveled Europe and South America before settling with her family in Gaithersburg in 1989. Nelia worked in the records division at the Montgomery County Police Department. Nelia spent her final years being cared for by her son and family in Derby, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers. Nelia is survived by her sons, Michael (Susan) Whitman and David (Stephanie) Whitman; 12 grandchildren; and 6 sisters.
