Naida Marie Waples

DOUGLASS- Waples, Naida Marie, 87, passed away March 20, 2012. Memorial service 2 pm, Saturday, March 24, at Douglass United Methodist Church, 204 S. Willow. Naida was born January 30, 1925 to Harry M. and Ida (Spires) McDaniel. She married Quentin Waples, December 12, 1942. She was a graduate of Winfield High School, (Winfield, Kansas) Class of 1942. Naida was active for many years in the Douglass United Methodist Church and the Douglass Chapter of P.E.O. She was also co-owner and bookkeeper of the Rock Grain Co., in Rock, Kans. for 45 years. Naida loved sharing her home for dinner parties and card games, and was a fabulous cook. Survivors include her daughter Beverly (Harold) House; sons Martin Waples and Greg (Rena) Waples; grandchildren, Patrick House, Christine Clay, Ronnie Waples, Lindsay Waples, Laura Waples, and Koyle Waples; and great-grandchildren Hannah and Gretchen Clay. Memorials have been established with Douglass United Methodist Church, 204 S. Willow, Douglass, KS 67039, and Douglass Senior Center, 124 W. 4th St., Douglass, KS 67039.
