Myrtle Leona Miller

September 2, 1936 — December 13, 2019

Myrtle L. Miller 83, passed away Friday, Dec 13th, 2019 following a year long battle from a major stroke, broken hip, heart issues and dementia. She was born Sept 2nd, 1936 to Charles and Ioma Red, Bentonville Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her Son, David Miller from a car accident in 1987.

Myrtle is survived by her Daughter, Lynn Nash, (Jeff); Wichita, Granddaughter Jessica Nash Lies;

Daughter, Maria Miller, Hutchinson; Grandchildren Robert Hill, Marcus Hill, Cody Rodriguez, Lotosha Castillio.

Son, William M. Miller (Kelly) Haysville. Grandchildren; Colton Miller, Kayley Miller. And Kile Miller, Austin Miller with Bills 1st wife Kat Asbury; 21 Great Grandkids; among many other loving family and friends.

Myrtle, her daughter Lynn and granddaughter Jessica enjoyed going on vacations over the years and visited 26 states and Ontario Canada. Many weekends and vacations were also spent with family in Arkansas where Myrtles brothers, sisters and many nieces and nephews live. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and hummingbirds at her back yard feeders but she also enjoyed sports, Myrtle could talk any sport with anyone, especially if it was about her beloved St. Louis Cardinals. She knew every team and had more knowledge of all sports than many do.

We would chuckle when she would yell at her teams on tv when they weren't doing well. She talked sports often with her son in law Jeff and he was always amazed at what she knew. When her sons lived at home they watched games together, they were both for Dallas Cowboys so she would always pick the opposing team to win and the house got so loud us girls would leave the room. Myrtle loved her family, and the Lord God her Savior. She attended Faith Baptist Church for over 40 years and it was there she was saved and baptized. She then went to West Side Christian Church until it closed. She was attending the District Church in Delano until the time of her stroke. She came to Wichita from Arkansas and worked for Kitty Clover potato chip company, she then went to Sage Distributors and worked until they closed their doors. From there she went to Furrs Cafeteria, where she worked for 17 years, working the line, cutting pies and then became the cashier. She retired in 2009. Her family and friends will miss her deeply. And we want to thank you for being part of her life. Visitation: Dec. 18th, 10 am to 11 am with services immediately following at 11am, at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, Wichita. Interment to follow at El Paso Cemetery in Derby Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice, 313 S. Market St. Wichita Ks 67202.
