Myrna Cook-Burns, age 90, of Haysville, KS, left peacefully to be with her Savior on September 25, 2023. Myrna was born on August 16, 1933 in Fairbury, NE, to Fred and Alta McClure. She graduated from Fairbury High School.
Myrna is preceded in death by her husband Darrell D. Cook, Sr, and her sons Darrell D. Cook, Jr (Cheryl Koelling) and Douglas F. Cook, and her brother Harlan McClure.
She is survived by her husband of 17 ½ years, William Burns, her sons David A. Cook (Jessie) and Dennis D. Cook (Laura), her grandchildren, Nicholas D. Cook (Heather) and Baylee M. Cook, her great-grandson, Cayden L. Cook, and her brother Howard McClure.
Myrna enjoyed and excelled in sewing and painting. She loved creating beautifully detailed quilts. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was able to meet her great grandson before passing.
Visitation 2-4pm Sunday, October 1, at Smith Mortuary in Haysville. Funeral Service 10am Monday, October 2, at the Haysville First Baptist Church, followed by interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
