HAYSVILLE—Pierce, Midred Eileen, 85, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012. Visitation 1-8 p.m. Monday at Smith Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville. Funeral service 10 a.m. Tuesday at Midway Baptist Church, 5135 S. Broadway.
Mildred retired from Cessna as a supervisor twenty-five years ago. She was also the former owner of Yogi’s at 55th and Broadway. Mildred was involved in many activities: Red Hat Society, Bingo Club, Singles Bible Study and other church involvement, playing cards, volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital, and taking trips with her daughters. More than anything, she will be remembered as a treasured mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Lois Bradley; husbands, Charles Lauderdale, LeRoy Pierce, Leslie Pierce; children Kenny Lauderdale, Patsy Shoemaker, Frank Pierce, Charles Junior Lauderdale; two brothers and a sister. She is survived by daughters Mary Lou (Don) Collier, Coffeyville, Carolyn Sue (Jim) Westervelt, Montrose, Colo., Rayma Mae (Dave) Rowland, Norwich; honorary daughters, Jenny (Don) Scott, Hutchinson, Becky Shoemaker, and Nancy Cabrales, both of Norwich; brother Donald Dean (Dodie) Bradley, West Columbia, Tex.; daughters-in-law Virginia Lauderdale, Tex. and Sharon Lauderdale, Tex.; 21 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67203, and Alzheimer’s Association, 347 S. Laura, Wichita, KS 67211.
