Michael Hutson

Michael “Mike” Ralph Hutson, age 79, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026. Born on December 30, 1946, Michael lived a life characterized by honor, humility, devotion to his family, and quiet strength.

A proud and distinguished veteran with 28 years of service, Mike served his country with honor in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. His dedication to service and love for his country were hallmarks of his character throughout his life, shaping the integrity and strength he brought to every role he held.

Beyond his military service and countless years in the aviation industry, serving on the most demanding jobs, including being granted the opportunity to work on Air Force One, Michael’s greatest pride was his family. He was a deeply devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished grandfather, and follower in Christ. Whether he was golfing, rolling around in the grass with his grandchildren, cheering on his beloved Oklahoma Sooners, simply enjoying time outdoors with his sidekick, a miniature Schnauzer named Lexi, sharing stories, or simply spending quiet moments surrounded by those he loved, his presence brought warmth, wisdom, and reliability to his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (Oberzan) Hutson, his children, Scott Hutson, Troy Hutson, and Cody Hutson; his grandchildren, Jamie Hutson, Hannah Hutson, Payten Hutson, Theodore Hutson, Daniel Hutson, and Louis Hutson; and his sister, Kay McClure. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph John Hutson, and Nadine (McClaflin) Hutson; his siblings, Janet Arnold, and David Hutson.

A service honoring Michael’s life and military service will be held on August 19th at 10:00 at Countryside Christian Church in Wichita Kansas. Friends and family are invited to gather to remember and celebrate a remarkable life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Countryside Christian Church, his place of worship for over 50 years.
