Michael Lloyd Huntoon

January 8, 1965 — May 13, 2026

Wichita

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Huntoon (61), who died peacefully on May 13th 2026 while surrounded by his loving family. Michael was a proud husband, dad, Papa, friend and USAF veteran. Michael was born January 8th, 1965 in Sarasota, Florida and raised in Murphy, North Carolina.

Michael grew into a man whose quiet presence spoke louder than words ever could. He lived with a steady grace—a calm strength that made others feel safe, understood, and deeply cared for.

Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Julie Huntoon, the love of his life and constant companion; his sons, Garrett (Taylor) Huntoon, Clark Rothgeb; daughter, Jessica (Zach) Cox; as well as eight beautiful grandchildren who brought him immeasurable joy. Michael is also survived by his sister, Nancy (David) Perrin; and stepmom, Linda Huntoon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd I. Huntoon and Kathleen Huntoon.

Michael served honorably in the United States Air Force, carrying with him a genuine sense of duty, discipline, and humility. Those qualities followed him into every phase of his life. He had a profound love of motorcycles, the freedom of the open road, the hum of the engine, and the sense of peace he found in the ride. But above all, he loved his family.Though he was a quiet man, Michael’s love was unmistakable. He didn’t need grand gestures or elaborate speeches. His devotion was shown through presence, protection, and unwavering reliability. Being near Michael meant feeling safe and valued. He had a gift for making you feel that you mattered simply by sharing space with him. Michael’s life was defined by loyalty, gentleness, and quiet strength. He gave his family not only love, but stability. He was the foundation they could always count on. His absence leaves a profound emptiness, but his spirit remains woven into the lives of those who loved him; in the lessons he taught, the safety he offered, and the love he gave so freely. His memory will live on in the family he cherished, in the stories they carry, and in the steady, comforting presence he shared with them for all the years they were blessed to have him.
