Merrel A. Nichols

Merrel “Nick” Nichols, 74, retired Parker Oil Company salesman, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011. Merrel was an avid golfer and loved golfing with his buddies. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jess and adopted Dad, Carl Tackett. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Linda; two sons, Wade and his wife Karen Nichols of Derby, Craig Nichols of Derby; granddaughter, Allison Nichols; brothers, Gene and Carl of Springdale, Ark; Clay of Bella Vista, Ark. Viewing: 1-8pm Tuesday with family greeting friends 6-8pm at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd. Services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 431 S. Woodlawn, Derby. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association, 608 W. Douglas, Ste 100, Wichita, KS 67203.
