He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Wetzel; parents; and siblings.
Merlyn is survived by his sons, Ray Wetzel and Rex Wetzel.
Visitation: Thursday, July 21, 2022, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Smith Mortuary - Haysville 7031 S. Broadway Haysville, Kansas 67060. Graveside Service: 11:00 am, Friday, July 22, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, 13307 Jewell Road Offerle, Kansas 67563.
