Merline Giles

Giles, Merline, 84, passed away January 7, 2015 after a brief bout with pneumonia. She was involved with the Mulvane Church of Christ and many community organizations, such as Red Hat Society, Mulvane Women’s Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, Sew Whats, Rose Hill Quilt Guild and Sit ‘n’ Stitch. Visitation 5-8pm Thursday, Funeral 1pm Friday at Smith Mortuary- Mulvane, 501 S.E. Louis Blvd. Mulvane. Donations may be made In lieu of flowers, to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 300 N. Main St. Wichita, 67202 Merline is preceded in death by her parents, Merl and Alice Banghart; brother, Robert; infant son, David. She is survived by her husband, Claud; children, Bobbi (Rick) Erb, Jeff (Diana) Giles, Tim (Debbie) Giles, Alison (Scott) Strecker, Melanie (Steve) Brownfield; grandchildren, Matt (Tiffany) Erb, Marni Erb, Sara Erb, Jake Giles, Sammy Strecker, Abby Strecker, Laura Giles, Audry Giles, Emily Giles, Alec Brownfield, Atticus Brownfield; and great-grandchildren, Amelia, Henry, Evie Erb.
