Maxine Sullivant

Maxine Sullivant, age 82, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Visitation 1-5 PM Saturday, April 23, with family receiving friends 3-5 PM, Smith Mortuary 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. A private burial will take place later. Maxine was born June 1, 1933 in Colby, KS, to Robert and Alma (Guy) McKedy. She attended school Bird City, KS, and later Wichita North High School graduating in 1951. On February 28, 1963, she married Joseph Richard Sullivant. They lived over 25 years in Douglass. At the time of her death she was a resident of Vintage Place, an assisted living home in Derby. She was cared for by a very loving staff and enjoyed the company of her fellow residents. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Raymond McKedy, and her husband, Richard. She is survived by her daughter Jo Lynn and son-in-law, Randy McWilliams. A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
