Surrounded by his mother, stepfather and closest friends, Matthew Douglas Arndt, took his last breath at approximately 1:45 am Tuesday, September 03,2024, just 17 days shy of his 18th birthday. Matthew bravely fought Ewings Sarcoma, an extremely aggressive pediatric cancer, for 6 1/2 years till the very end. Matthew had a zest for life that Ewings Sarcoma could not extinguish.
Matthew is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Marjorie Hansard; paternal great-grandfather, Neal Arndt, his beloved chocolate lab, Lady and his golden retriever, Shelby.
Matthew is survived by his beloved kitty, Gracie; mother and stepfather, Melissa and Jason Carriker; father and stepmother, Michael Sr and Heather Arndt, his 2 brothers, Michael Jr and Dayton Arndt, and step-brothers Dean Richardson, Joey Watson; Grandparents, Mark and Angela Arndt, Gregg and Lisa Stout, Jon and Debbie Turpin, and Robert Babcock and Debra and Michael Espergren. Great Grandmothers Georgia Arndt and Dorthy Holbrook and Great Grandfather Charlie Manasco.
He is also survived by Aunt and UnclePaige and Leo Ring, Uncle Austin Huckabee and Aunt Kaitlyn Huckabee and Uncle/Best Friend Alex MacKinnon. Best Friends Gavin Bolster, Matthew Whittle, and the love of his life, Addyson Case. Surrogate family, Chris Wells and Gina Burke, Nick and Jace Wells and their family. The senior class of 2025 and the Senior Football Team. Numerous friends and relatives.
Celebration of Life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the First Pentecostal Church, 1755 E MacArthur Rd, Wichita, KS 67216.
A second Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 pm Friday, September 20, 2024 at the Alva Church of the Nazarene, 728 College Ave, Alva, OK 73717.
