Mary Elizabeth Johnson

Johnson, Mary Elizabeth “Beth”, 82, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015. She was born February 24, 1933 to Oran and Marguerite (Bono) Shearer. Beth graduated from North High in Wichita and then earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Kansas. She loved music and enjoyed teaching it to others. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wes Johnson; daughter, Anne Johnson; grandson, Tyler Bagby; and siblings, Glee Horn and Jim Shearer. Beth is survived by her children, Denise (Charles) Bagby, Paul (Jill) Johnson, and Tim Johnson; brother, Tony Shearer; 8 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Graveside service: 10 am, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1820 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67214.
